Towing is not a black art!
But practice certainly helps.

You don’t need a huge car to tow, but you do need to
make sure your car and your caravan are safely matched:

Small car = folding caravan   Medium car = small to medium sized caravan   Larger/heavier car = large caravan
Small car = folding caravan   Medium car = small to medium sized caravan   Larger/heavier car = large caravan

As a rule of thumb, your caravan – when loaded - should weigh no more than 85% of the kerb weight of the car.

The National Caravan Council, along with the Caravan Club and the Camping and caravanning Club have produced a Towing Guide. If you want to know more detail about towing, click here.
